The process is reversed to get the signal back to the laptop The card in the laptop turns the computer's signals into radio waves and sends it to the wireless router. Wireless router(WAP) is the most common connection for home. This connection uses a very localized wireless technology that transmit for limited distance almost few 100 feetsarround your home. That connection actually uses the connection that goes through your DSL connection through your ISP.
