HEaTED Networks • all UK regions • meet at least 2 x yearly • meeting reports and discussions • Online Groups support the networks Training and Development • standard course listings • bespoke sessions • on demand / in house • new courses as suggested by members • support YOUR delivery of training

General Stats • 66 member Institutions (see Join us page for list) • 2350+ individual members signed up from those HEIs (Register a technician FREE) • 254 training days booked for 252 individuals since 01 Sept 2012 • 350+ attendees at Regional Network events across the UK in the Autumn 2012 term • Next series of Regional events taking place in all regions this/next term

General Stats • HEaTED Conference: 100+ attendees, Report available in members only area of website (log in, documents to view on Member dashboard) and in Online Communities (members only), following up on action points • Online Groups: like a forum, 23% members using them - please register yourself!

  8. The coming months • Expand membership to Science Parks and FE Colleges, pilot to be started April 2013 • Continued support for Science Council, Engineering Council, and associated awarding bodies in promoting and supporting Professional Registration

Supporting Professional Registration • Think of HEaTED as a vehicle! • All HEaTED courses are linked to competencies for Professional Registration • Regional Network Events and contribution to the online communities demonstrate your commitment to professional development and contribution to the Technical Community • The HEaTED website will signpost routes to Professional Registration • HEaTED’s quick guide should help

The coming months ctd… • Lead the way in supporting technical staff in The Arts: setting up a group which aims to support a National Network of Arts Technicians (NNAT) • Working with member HEIs to work out action plans ensuring we deliver value for money and benefits to all technical staff • Expand course provision based on member requirements

Use the course brochures and your own requirements to identify potential courses for you / your HEI • Do you have any new course suggestions / ideas e.g. Teaching & Learning Skills for Technical Staff, Running an Away Day for Technical Staff • Would you like to know if it is possible to bring an existing course to you / in demand courses? E.g. wood bending and steaming; transport of dangerous goods; laser cutting for fine arts
