  3. Who are the Standards and Guidelines aimed at? • The Management of Ministries and Agencies • All technical and professional personnel in an ICT Unit • Support units in the Ministry or the Agency such as: • Purchasing • Accounting • Final users (Domain of the system) • The Private Sector

  4. What are the 13 areas or Segments?

  5. Standard Operating Procedures Standards Good Practices Guidelines Standards and Guidelines will include: Procedural Levels/Specs Mandatory Recommended

  6. Standard Operating Procedures Examples • The procedure for testing software modules • The procedure for securing a network • The procedure to install a new system • The procedure to exchange data between agencies Procedural Mandatory

  7. Good Practices Examples • Maintaining database systems • Designing software applications • Selecting and evaluating ICT products and services Procedural Recommended

  8. Standards Examples • A technical minimal requirement such as memory • A professional requirement such as a Microsoft certificate • A quantitative level such as Data Center temperature and humidity Level Mandatory
