OBJECTIVES Objectives for2008/2009 • Development of new products and services • Positioning of EDTNA/ERCA towards an international concept • Work closely with industry and universities and introducetailored educational and research projects • Further develop the QualityManagement System throughout the Association

  10. OBJECTIVES Did we achieve ourobjectives for 2008/2009 ? Development of new products and services EDTNA/ERCA has focused on adapting and developingproductsand services for its membership and e-membership • For the first time in the long history of the EDTNA/ERCA, we launch 3 new handbooks at this Conference: Renal transplantation - a guide to clinical practice kindly supported by Bristol Myers–Squibb International Peritoneal Dialysis – a guide to clinical practice kindly supported by Baxter Europe Haematology and the patient with CKD – an introductoryguide, kindly supported by Roche UK, Syner-Med UK and Vifor Pharma

  12. OBJECTIVES Did we achieve ourobjectives for 2008/2009 ? Development of new products and services EDTNA/ERCA has focused on adapting and developingproductsand services for its membership and e-members • JoRC Supplement on: Management of Mineral and Bone disorders in Chronic Kidney Failure has been already distributed to our members • Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression Project results are being presented at this Conference.

Positioning of EDTNA/ERCA towards an international concept EDTNA/ERCA continues to explore the possibility of closer collaboration with national and international associations. We have established contact with a number of associations about future collaboration. • Signed collaborative agreement with CANNT(Canada) • Signed collaborative agreement with SOBEN (Brazil) • Signed collaborative agreement with RSA (Australasia) • Signed collaborative agreement with NKF (USA),resulted in joint KDIGO session at the Hamburg Conference EDTNA/ERCA established an ILM positions • International Link member for Australia • International Link member for Canada • International Link member for Thailand

Work closely with industry and universities and introduce tailored educational and research projects EDTNA/ERCA aimed to increase the number of tailored projects and implement them with our partners at the international and national levels. • Growing list of corporate members • Diamond partnership with Gambro has been successfully established • 3rdFresenius Middle East Project was held in Egypt, 4th is planned for 2010 • FMC and Diaverum coursehave been successfully endorsed • New endorsement applicant:Genzyme Germany • Operational Industry Advisory Board • DOPPS IV. (in 6 countries managed by EDTNA/ERCA)

  15. Go Green in Dialysis! A campaign to achieve more sustainability in dialysis care OBJECTIVES Our partnership with international industry partners is becoming stronger. New joint EDTNA/ERCA and Fresenius Medical Care project “ Go green in dialysis" is being lanched at this Conference.The project duration has been agreed for 3 years and we have developed the following project objectives: • Create awareness for environmental aspects in dialysis • Change habits for a more “environmental friendly” dialysis • Measure environmental changes/savings • Prepare environmental guidelines for dialysis

Objectives for 2009-2011 Enhance and Maintain the continuity ofthe good collaboration with industry FromSeptember 1st 2009 the Executive Director Jitka Pancirova, will be on post to directly liase with industry partners and keep continuity for projects, sponsorship and international conferences

Dublin accessibility by air Dublin Airport is Ireland’s busiest airport, with over 90 airlines flying to over 170 destinations, including direct scheduled daily flights from North America, mainland Europe, Britain and weekly regular flights from the Emirates. It is currently undergoing a 2 billion euro investment programme, to include a new passenger terminal by the end of 2009, which will increase the annual passenger capacity to over 35 million. The airport is conveniently located 10km north of Dublin city centre, with excellent roads links to The Convention Centre Dublin which is only 20 minutes away via the Port Tunnel, which brings visitors directly into the Spencer Dock development area.

Dublin accessibility by road The Convention Centre Dublin is located in the heart of the city, with easy road access and extensive public transport links including bus, trams and metro lines. by rail Spencer Dock has a new rail station and an underground link is also planned to Heuston Station, the centre for rail travel to the rest of Ireland. by sea Frequent ferry services operate to Dublin from various points in Britain and Europe, with Dublin Port Ferry Terminal only five minutes from The Convention Centre Dublin by direct road link, to facilitate the swift delivery of goods.

  40. 5. Accommodation Accommodation will be for the 2010 conference handled directly by CZECH-IN. Based on negotiations with individual hotels we suggest hotels listed on the next slide to become official hotels of the EDTNA/ERCA 2010. Vast advantage of Dublin is that major hotels can be reach by walk or very short journey by bus or tram. Various hotel categories have been identified and visited to provide wide range of different price categories accommodation. Apart of hotels listed on the next slide we are in touch with few bed and breakfast hotels that could offer low cost accommodation to our delegates if required.
