  1. In this article, FRP Cable Tray Manufacturer will explain how to inspect used FRP Tanks and Vessels to determine their condition for assessment for continued service. The inspection involves three phases – external inspection when the vessel is in-service, external and internal inspections when engineers remove the vessel from service. All these three phases have to be performed correctly to complete the inspection process. These inspection phases are not only meant for FRP tanks, but all laminated FRP Components like “ducts, stacks, cable tray, and dual laminate equipment”, i.e. FRP with an important thermoplastic corrosion barrier. Safety Precautions Before performing any inspections, the person should know about safety policies and practices that apply in inspection. These practices and precautions should be defined and provided by the operator of the equipment, who is solely responsible for effective policies and practices should meet personnel safety requirements as mentioned by state, local, and federal authorities.

  2. Construction Elements Shared by FRP Tanks and Vessels: Structural wall offers the strength and shape of the structure The corrosion barrier used for protecting the structural wall against chemical attack. Both the structural wall and corrosion barrier will have laminated construction. Manufacturers use organic thermo sets for FRP equipment construction. These resins are cure to a hard condition by involving a chemical reaction and cannot be reshaped or softened by heat. The resins they use are usually epoxy, polyester, or epoxy vinyl-ester based compounds. Most of the times manufacturers use epoxy vinyl esters and polyesters resins for FRP process tanks and vessels. Epoxy vinyl ester resins have more resistance than polyesters. Both the resins can be readily fabricated as FRP and used in fire-retardant formulations. External Walk Down and Inspection Look closely at: Structural supports and attachments All nozzles and openings The base of the vessel or tank Accessible shape changes How to Find Depth of Cracks? The depths of blistering, cracks and other corrosion barrier attacks should be determined. This is best performed by cautiously probing the depth to which the problem influences the corrosion barrier and coat, using drilling, grinding, or gentle digging.
