  2. Introduction • He was born in the 1540s in Devon, England. • He had a poor family! • Queen Elizabeth, 1st, gave him permission and paid for him to go on his journey. • His goal was to sail the Spanish colonies and steal their riches.

  3. Exploration • Exploring from 1572-1577 and from 1577-1580. • Stole silver from the Spanish colonies , he found the West Indies and the Spice Islands. The natives living there are: The Melanesians and The Austronesia's. (aw-stron-sias) (Mel-ain- si-ans • The first people to live there were the Melanesians and The Austronesia’s. • He almost started a war with Spain. Sir Francis Drake effected England in a good way because he brought money to England.

  5. Conclusion and Reflection • Sir Frances Drake didn’t make good decisions. • He wanted to find the northwest passage. • He was honored because he has a hotel named after him and a street.

Interesting Facts • Sir Francis Drake found so much treasure that he had to shorten his trip. • He had a wife but no kids. • He died from a high fever and from losing a battle against Puerto Rico. • He was buried at sea. • He was one of the first English Explorers to explore the Pacific and Indian ocean.
