  3. Triangles Yes, some 3D triangles tessellate such as equilateral and right angled triangles, but others like isosceles do not.

  4. Hexagons Yes, 3D hexagons tessellate. This works only if all sides and faces are equal.

  5. Conclusion Only three polygons can tessellate; Squares, triangles and hexagons. With the cube, certain pyramids and 3D hexagons capable of stacking
