Remember:Perfect stems of the third conjugation can only be determined by looking in the dictionary In Latin, the perfect stem is formed by: 1. adding the suffix u (v) to the root am-o, ama-re, amav-i 2. adding the suffix s to the root reg-o, rege-re, rex-i (reg-s-i) 3. reduplicating the first consonant of the root d-o, da-re, ded-i 4. lengthening the root vowel ag-o, age-re, eg-i, actum
