HU took this initiative in its vision since 2003, When the LMS was integrated into Its information system The Hashemite University e-Learning Initiative has four plans of action: The deployment of the necessary infrastructure and equipment for sparking the growth of e-learning Specific training at all levels and particularly for teachers, students and trainers The creation of the necessary conditions for the development of quality educational contents and services Hastening the networking and cooperation at the national level. Facts: • The University supports its infrastructure with brand e-learning software for students' and instructors' use. • The e-learning center in HU has: • Open Lab with 250 PCs dedicated for accessing e-learning material. • 4 labs 30 PCs each for teaching and training. • Servers and all the needed hardware. • There are Labs for computer center distributed in the University with an average 100 PCs each. • Also, each Faculty has it own computer labs. • 80% of the HU academic staff trained on LMS use.   9. Synchronous Tools:students involve in the faculty via the web in real time. Students accessing the courses at the same time as a faculty. HU provides its students with a synchronous live classes where students can interact with their instructors, watch, listen, and ask questions.   11. Asynchronous tools: allows students to complete the course on their own time and schedule, as many times as they want, without live interaction with their instructors. HU, provides a class capturing tool that records the class with all its activities and makes it available for the students on the LMS.   13. For in-house content development, the university provides its staff with a productive authoring tool, easy to use and rich in features. Through this tool, instructors will be able to develop their contents and publish it in different formats for students. • HU has a high technology infrastructure supported with the rest mentioned components of e-learning, such as: online exams system, student information system, library system, and working on a full university portal system. Future Expectations • Continue training the faculty staff in the university on the e-learning software. • Contracting and cooperation with international and regional communities in the field of e-learning. • Placing a strategic plan for course delivery methods, from face-to-face courses in hybrid e-learning to totally online courses for distance learning. Scheduling courses to meet degree requirements for distance and off-campus learners. • Create a distance learning program and associated courses which serves nationally and regionally.
