January 30, 2019 Bell Ringer How do you compare the following:
Comparing Prices To Save Money • From today’s Bell Ringer, I recommend finding the daily price for each gym (provided that they are open every day of the year). • Golden Days Gym = 336/365 • Fitness Fun Gym = 70/30 • Bright Lights Gym = 15 • You could also use multiplication. You would have to multiply Bright Lights by 365 and Fitness Fun by 12. Golden Days is already a yearly rate of $336.
Does This Always Work? • No. Maybe you do not enjoy going to work out, for example. You like the way that it makes you feel or look. You know that you will not to go a gym every day of the year. Perhaps instead, you want to go to the gym 3 times per week. This changes everything. • Maybe you are not going to live in the same place for a whole year… do you really want a year’s membership?
Financial Planning for Recreational Costs • You’ve decided what you want to do for recreation but the activity you chose is expensive. You may need to save money for it. How much will you need to save? First, take inventory of any equipment you will need. You might need tools and special clothes. Make a list. Write what you have and what you need. Some types of recreation are more expensive than others.
Your Recreation • Special Shoes: (golf, bowling, running, football, basketball) • Traveling Time & Money: (maybe any sport) • Costs to Compete: (golf, bowling, running)
