  1. Barriers To Lifelong Physical Activity By Ryan Lieschke and Dylan Howe

  2. Scenario • My name is Doug and I enjoy playing Tennis. I was in a car accident and now I’m paralysed from the waist down. I also live in a rural community that doesn’t have any Tennis Courts and the nearest town is 45 minutes away.

  3. Implications Disabled Rural Isolation I am 45 minutes away from the nearest town and I can’t drive. Since I can’t drive, I can’t get there because it’s to far. So, I have to rely on my parents who live on the other side of town. • Since I’m is disabled I’m not able to run around as fast as the ball, which means that I’m at a great disadvantage. I also struggle to produce enough power to hit the ball without the use of my legs.

  4. Rules and Equipment Rules Equipment Shorter net. Slightly larger ball. Wheelchairs. • Smaller court that doesn’t require much movement ( shorten length, bring the sides in). • Must be in a wheelchair. • Shorten net height.
