  10. Breakdown of non-newsletter VoltiNews - Voltimum

  11. What this tells us about non-newsletter registrants - VoltiBulletin • Largest proportion is the Electrical Contractor 1-10 employees with 24%. • Low opt out rate of 2-6% of M&E Consultants • 20% opt out rate in “Other” for Edmundson but only 2% in Voltimum

  12. What this tells us about non-newsletter registrants - VoltiNews • Largest proportion is the Electrical Contractor 1-10 employees with 24%. • The Electrical and M&E Contractor (25+employees) is only 6% • Facilities Manager has a very low opt out rate of 1.8% • M&E contractors for Edmundson is 2% but in Voltimum it is 6%

  13. Conclusions and actions • People automatically opt in to receive emails when they register to read the information on the site. • The motive for registration is different between Edmundson and Voltimum and therefore the wish to receive further email communication. • Registrants from Edmundson may be motivated by a one stop visit to the catalogue for information. Therefore they opt out of email soon after they begin to receive it. • For some registrants they may be part of the process and not part of the purchase. They have been asked to source the information on behalf of someone else. • This can be confirmed by checking how many times they have logged in. If they have logged in only once we can conclude that registration to newsletter was not their primary reason for coming to the site.

  14. Conclusions and actions • Review the Edmundson site and propose more Edmundson content to encourage long term registrants keen to receive the newsletters. • Show example of newsletter at registration stage so that registrants can see what they will be receiving. • Eliminate foreign registrants. • Use knowledge of job responsibilities to assist partners in providing content that is key to registrants interest and therefore improves recognition factor and reading of manufacturer news articles.
