  3. Two Common Types of Eye Problems • Near-Sighted-can’t see far. • Eye is longer than normal • Focal length insufficient. • Far-Sighted-can’t see close. • Eye is too short • Muscles don’t work properly

  4. Far-sighted • Need a converging lens. • Eye needs help converging light rays sooner so they don’t go out of the back of the eye.

  5. Near-Sighted • Need a diverging lens. • Eye needs rays to converge further back so the diverging lens moves the focus point back further.

  6. Microscopes • Goal is to make something small bigger. • Which type of lenses would you use? • Both Actually. • Need to make image bigger but need to refine image also.
