  1. Sensor Asia DevelopmentProgress HONDA Kiyoshi Asian Institute of Technology / Mie University Aadit Shrestha, Rassarin Ch., NGUYEN Duy Hung Asian Institute of Technology Hiroshi SHIMAMURA e-laboexperience

  2. Contents • Concept of Sensor Asia • Sensor Observation Service • Sensor Service GRID ( SSG ) • Development Progress

  3. Farmers, Students, Scientists, Engineers, Decision Makers…Buy a Field Server, Connect sensors,View the data on GE, Overlay with GIS Data. But, can everyone do Now ? • Sensor Plug & Play • Automatic Configuration • Establishing Data Path • Archiving • Data Publishing • Overlay with GIS Server Server

  4. Sensor ASIA • Promote Sensor Observation in ASIA using Sensor Service GRID(SSG) as an infrastructure • Sensor Plug & Play • Easy Installation/Archive/Publishing for scientist/engineer/anyone • Off-the-shelf Sensor-node, Sensor • Ubiquitous Open Sensor Network • High-density ( Spatial/temporal ) observations • Environment • Agriculture • Meteorology • Education • Security…. • Interface to MetBroker/Digital Asia/Digital Earth • Application testbed of SSG - ALFAE • Thailand, Malaysia, Japan…. • Contribution to Business • Easy installation will reduce cost, increase sensors/FS node • Various program to obtain/share data

  5. SOS: Sensor Observation Service • OGC: Open Geo-Spatial Consortium Standards on SWE • SOS ( Sensor Observation Service ) • SPS ( Sensor Planning Service ) • WNS ( Web Notification Service ) • Obtain Sensor Information • Standard Query and Answer • O&M Documents ( xml ) • Sensor Name, Location, Spec, Data….. • Provide standard interface to sensor data • Limitations • Not field oriented • Gap to physical sensor setup • Sensor configuration • Security • Public Service

  6. We propose SSG; Sensor Service GRID • Provide useful service layer on top of SOS • Push SOS ( OGC Sensor Observation Service ) to sensor side as much as possible: on Field Server • Sensor Plug & Play • Automatic Configuration • A/D; Sensor output -> Measurement Data • Data Path ( Sensor Node->Server ->Archiving/Publishing ) • Visualization • Security • High Adaptability in various Network/Power/Regulation Environment • Geographic Information Web Service • Gateway to Metbroker -> Seamless connection to/from existing DB

  7. SOS Station = SOS Station + Linux Box Fieldserver SOS Implementation

  8. Implementation of SOS Linux BOX Direct Client/SSG Field Server SOS Server Data Feeder Configuration Sensor ML Pool Configurations are constructed by Sensor ML DB keeps History of Configuration Change ->Flexible Sensor Configuration Change Linux BOX / SOS System

  9. Prototype:Register a SOS Node to SSG Sensor +SOS ConfigureData Archiving/Publishing Automatically on SSGSensor info. download from SSG or embedded in SOS

  10. Find the sensor on GE immediately GE client

  11. Overview of front-end process (information shower) SOS+FS ( Through Satellite Link ) Client SSG (AIT )

  12. Link to a SOS - Dynamic KML Requesting Dynamic KML

  13. Sensor Location

  14. Viewing Sensor Location and Channels

  15. Visualize Data

  16. Obtaining SensorML

  17. Camera Image Access

  18. Advantages of the system • Easy FS Configuration Change • Easy Registration of FS on SSG • Easy access to data from applications and visualization

  19. Immediate Work • Speed up SOS Response • Change Query Style • Reduce information redundancy • Middleware to cache sensor data on SSG • Implementation in Firewall/NAT environment • Messaging Service • Interface to MetBroker( Dr. Kiura, Ninomiya) • Sensor P&P Implementation • SensorML – consistency with Metbroker • Specification Document Release
