  1. WP4Algorithms, Tools, and Fault Injection Overview Jonny Vinter, SP

  2. WP4/Algorithms, Tools, and FI - Objectives The overall objective: To develop algorithms and tools which are used to generate and execute efficient test cases by means of formal methods as well as fault injection. The overall objective will be achieved by providing: Fault-based methods for test-case generation Minimal cut-sets-based fault-injection Formal track in Prover iLock Experimental track in MODIFI Combination of fault injection and formal methods Model-implemented fault injection mechanisms Tool development

  3. WP4/Algorithms, Tools, and FI - Progress T4.1 - Fault-based test-case generation: TCG technique outlined in deliverable D4.1 Inspired by mutation testing and fault injection Deliverable D3.1a fault models considered Uses model checking to find test cases Two application scenarios whether the model can be used as oracle or not Continuous signals require extensions to existing model checking tools

  4. WP4/Algorithms, Tools, and FI - Progress T4.2 - Minimal cut-sets based fault injection: Formal track in Prover iLock is currently being implemented in the Prover iLock environment Experimental track in Simulink is currently being implemented as part of MODIFI which is a successor of FIMS

  5. WP4/Algorithms, Tools, and FI - Progress T.4.3 - Combining FI and formal methods: Using fault models defined in WP3 and TCG techniques investigated in T4.1 and T4.2 The aim is to integrate these techniques in order to fulfil a fault based coverage criteria Develop methods for test case generation based on techniques that aim at providing condition coverage or predicate coverage with fault injection and mutation testing

  6. WP4/Algorithms, Tools, and FI - Progress T4.4 - Model-implemented FI mechanisms: Implementation of FMFs from D3.1a Used by iLock and MODIFI in T4.2 and in demonstrator WPs

  7. WP4/Algorithms, Tools, and FI - Progress T.4.5 – Development of Tools: MODIFI (T4.2, WP7 = Ford demonstrator) SWIFI tool (WP7 = Re:Lab demonstrator) HIFI-tool at SP (T5.1) FI tool for iLock (T4.2, WP6) TCG tool (described in D4.1) Translator from state charts to symbolic transition systems Symbolic executor for symbolic transition systems Interfacing to STG test case generator On-the-fly TC Generator for QR models Conversion from UML/OCL to Action Semantics

  8. WP4/Algorithms, Tools, and FI - Planning
