What does the command word ‘describe’ mean? • There are three easy rules for describing patterns on a map: • State the general trend – what is the big picture? • Is the pattern clustered or spread out? Are conflicts found in particular continents? Where are conflicts NOT found? • 2. Add detail to the general trend. • Name specific examples to illustrate the general trend.
