  3. Jesus is making His final journey to Jerusalem.... But He has to pass through Jericho first which is 17 miles to the east of Jerusalem. On His way into the town he heals a blind man. But something happens on His way out of Jericho too.

  4. I. These blind men are in a helpless condition vs 30

  5. II. But they are in the right position vs 30

  6. Mar 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

  7. Luk 18:35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

  8. III. Bartimaeus and the other man were healed by the Great Physician vs 32-34

  9. Today it is estimated that 39 million people around the world are blind, with another 285 million who are visually impaired. 90% of the world’s blind are in developing countries. This means that the majority of todays blindness is treatable and preventable. Tragic? Yes. But the world has a much bigger problem.

  10. Since the beginning of time the world has been in spiritual blindness!

  11. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.(II Cor 4:3,4)

  12. The greatest tragedy about spiritual blindness is that it is 100% treatable!

  13. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

  14. Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  15. Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

  16. Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

  17. I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)

  18. Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

  19. What about you today?

  20. Final Thought.. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  21. Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

  22. Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  23. Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  24. I once was lost, but now am found,Was blind, but now I see.
