  3. WGISS Themes for 2010 • Focus on WGISS Objectives • Support 2010 CEOS Work Plan • Work closely with CEOS Working Groups • Respond to User Vice Chairs’ recommendations and requests • Strengthen relationship with active WGISS Liaisons

Focus on WGISS Objectives • Subgroups need to ensure that all approved IGs, Projects, Presentations fulfill one (or more) of the WGISS Objectives (See Reference in WGISS 5 year plan) • WGISS29 Expected outcomes • All IGs and projects to submit their project plans (if not yet done) to WISP to post on the WGISS Website • Clearly identify which objectives shall be served and how • Expected deliverables (Outcomes, Prototyping, or Demonstration) should be identified with milestones • List of 2010 expected deliverables for IGs s/Project shall be identified • WGISS Summary list of 2010 expected deliverables • Current status to be reported

Support the 2010 CEOS Work Plan • IGs/Projects should focus mainly on responding to the 2010 CEOS WP • CEOS Key Deliverables • Global Monitoring of Greenhouse Gases from Space (GHG), Forest Carbon Tracking, Data Democracy, Climate Change • Virtual Constellations • Portals ?? • Special recommendation from GEO/CEO on LSI portal should be addressed • CEOS in support of GEO Work Plan • 9 GEO tasks • Special requests from Disaster SBA on the model illustrating the role of information system and service for Data Dissemination • WGISS-29 Expected outcomes • Identify key activities that your IGs and projects support and their associate expected deliverables • Current status

Work closely with CEOS Working Groups • WGCV • Possible, interesting, and useful joint activities • Expected deliverables should be identified • Joint meeting should be planned • WGISS-29 Expected outcomes • A draft plan for 2010-2011 WGCV-WGISS joint activity • Champion for this joint activity

Respond to User Vice Chairs’ recommendations and requests • Role of user vice chair • To assess the extent to which user needs are being addressed by WGISS and the extent to which their requirements are being met. • How can WGISS respond? • Convening workshops, authoring papers, developing information technology infrastructure that increases the interconnectivity and reuse of key information software and services in use across the broad spectrum of EO communities • WGISS-29 Expected outcomes • A summary of user requirements from User Vice Chair to which WGISS can respond in 2010-2011 timeframe and how

Strengthen relationship with active WGISS Liaisons • Current Liaisons as appear in the WGISS 5 year plan • Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) (part of ISO TC20/SC13). • Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). • International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS). • International Standards Organization (ISO) • International Council on Scientific Unions (ICSU) • Committee on Data (ICSU/CODATA) • GSDI • WGISS-29 Expected outcomes • List of active Liaisons • Future plan for coordination • Make a practice that the PoC report to the incoming WGISS plenary
