  4. What to expect your freshman year FRESHMAN YEAR • August • Check in on assigned day. • Check for activities and clubs you would be interested in joining. • Sept - June • Complete high school course plan with counselor. • Take the EXPLORE assessment. • Communicate about grades, academic achievement, and preparation for post-high school goals. • Students are encouraged to take a rigorous course load. • Parents and students are encouraged to attend Back-to-School night and parent-teacher conferences. • February • Keep your post-high school goals in mind as you choose courses. • Complete registration for your sophomore year. • March • Take CSAP test (state mandated). • May • Review requested sophomore schedule for accuracy and appropriateness.

Silver Creek Leadership Academy(SCLA) Mission Statement: Silver Creek Leadership Academy is committed to empowering a community of leaders who are active stewards in a diverse and ever-changing society. SCLA Graduates: • Are empathetic, responsible, reflective, goal-driven individuals. • Collaborate, guide, think critically, and serve others. • Are civic-minded individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in information acquisition.

  6. SCLA Students who proceed through the program requirements will graduate will a unique SCLA certificate. Program Requirements 9th grade: Foundations for Success 10th grade: Global Issues Service Learning Requirements 9th grade: Extracurricular Involvement 10th grade: Opportunities with Middle and Elementary Schools Please go to the registration website to download the application for entrance into our SCLA program. Algebra 2 or IMP 3 (Upon successful completion of Algebra 1 and Geometry in Middle School, along with teacher recommendation).

  11. Science (3.0 Credits) Page 31 in CDB Earth Systems or Honors Physical Science** (Concurrently enrolled in Algebra 1/IMP1) Biology or Honors Biology** (Concurrently enrolled in Geometry/IMP2) College Prep Chemistry (Concurrently enrolled in Algebra 2/IMP3)

  12. Online Registrationhttp://schs.stvrain.k12.co.us/registration/ This year everything with course selections will be completed online. Between now and February 15th Your student needs to pre-determine what courses he/she would like to take his/her Freshman year. (Please be sure to review selections with your 8th grade teachers for appropriate placement)

  13. Online Registration February 15 – March 3rd In infinite campus student will enter their own requests. This can be done from any computer that has internet access, 24 hours a day. This is only inputting requests; this doesn’t have anything to do with when and which courses they will actually receive on their schedule. Schedules will be finalized by May 17th. At that time you will be able to access your SY 2010 – 2011 schedule in Infinite Campus.
