What to expect this year… • Earthquake and seismic activities • In depth look at species of animals from the Murie collection and activities related to our evolution unit • Elk sleigh ride with emphasis on adaptations of animals in relation to the evolution unit • Research project in the field related to seismic activity

Field Gear Snow boots Wool or synthetic socks – 1 per day Sock liners (optional) Coat – waterproof, windproof outer layer Pants or bibs – waterproof, windproof outer layer Fleece vest, wool sweater – layer 3 Fleece jacket or anorak – layer 2 Long underwear top & bottom – core layer Warm hat 2 pairs waterproof gloves or mittens Glove liners Sunscreen/Chapstick Sunglasses/goggles Water bottle Day pack

Additional Info • Location –Kelley campus • Cost - $457.71 • Scholarships • Fund raising (ideas) • Pizza fundraiser cards? • Concessions (proceeds from MS concessions will be divided among students going on trip in Jan)-money also goes to scholarships, equipment (cameras), supplies for trip and sleigh ride fees • Clean up after bball games (HS/MS gyms) $40/hr • Sales of ipad cases • Other ideas?

Preparation • Deposit/first payment • Forms: Risk, Medical, Behavioral • Gather Clothing • Chaperones • Trip Coordinator • Tina Melin • Group Chaperones-must be willing to take an active role! • Will be selecting 2-3 additional chaperones as determined by the number and gender of students going on the trip • Additional chaperones will be notified in early Jan. and will need to complete a fingerprint application
