  5. Frogmen Cuban Exile invasion force/ Brigade 2506 Land on beach at Bay of Pigs Immediately under heavy fire Sank 2 escort ships, destroyed half of the exile’s air support Bad weather hampers the ground force leads to soggy equipment and insufficient ammunition.

  6. Counter attack Castro orders over 20,000 troops to advance towards the beach and Cuban air force dominate the sky Reaction: Kennedy sends six unmarked American B-26’s to defend the B-26 air fleet. Arrive an hour late: result was they were shot down and invasion was crushed that day.

  7. Aftermath Some escaped to the sea rest were killed or rounded up and imprisoned by Castro's forces. Almost 1,200 members of Brigade 2056 surrendered, and more than 100 were killed.
