  1. Ordering Parts Summer 2011 Slides adapted from the slides used by Mike O’Dell for use in the Senior Design Class.

  2. Procedure • Do the research first • Verify part is correct for your application, then check it again! Read the data sheets. • Find an approved supplier who has a good price and satisfactory availability • Complete a purchase request form (on class Website) • Group components from same supplier on a single form • Include complete description of part and other required info • Include the link to the cart item if possible • Don’t forget shipping and handling charges.

  3. Procedure • Email the completed form to huber@cse.uta.edu • Print a hard copy, sign and date it and bring it to me in the next class, or leave it in my CSE mailbox • I will notify you when I receive your part(s), and bring them to class/lab, if convenient. • Parts can be picked up in lab when either a GTA or Dr. Huber is available • Receipt signature required

Suggested/Preferred Vendors • Use these vendors, if they carry your parts • Tax-free account already set up for UTA • Proven responsiveness • Will-call available at mouser and Allied • Other vendors can be added if they will allow tax-free status (you verify this) • Special items can be purchased locally • Limited occasions (Home Depot, etc.) • Requires my presence (with my UT c/c) • Must allow tax-free purchases

Suggested/Preferred Vendors • Printed Circuit Boards: • Advanced Circuits (4pcb.com)  - single/small quantity circuit boards at student pricing • Special/Miscellaneous: • Amazon - computer and miscellaneous parts • Pololu - h-bridges, etc. • A Main Hobbies (servos, specialty robotics parts, etc.) • Probotix (robotics components, stepper motors, etc.) • EnableMart - assistive technologies
