  4. Recycling On-Site • Site Separation • Process by which waste is sorted and disposed of individually by type of waste. • Pros: Higher recycling rates & lower tipping fees • Cons: Large area consumed by multiple containers

  5. Recycling Off-Site • Off-Site Separation • Process by which comingled waste is sorted at an offsite disposal facility to reclaim as much material as possible. • Pros: Excellent for facilities with limited space • Cons: Slightly higher tipping fees

  6. Forgotten Cousins of Recycling • Charitable Donations • Many items can be donated to charitable organizations. • Salvage • Consult salvage company to remove fixtures & equipment • Vendors can reclaim and remanufacture existing fixtures
