  2. Energy Monitor Real-time Electricity Monitoring updated once every minute. We were consuming about 10.000 kWh a year, way to much! For years I was thinking about a plan to measure the electricity automatically. With this little project I was able to reduce the electricity from 10.000kWh to 6000kWh. Because of the accurate and minute by minute reading of electricity consumption I became much more aware of it all. I found out that I was consuming 0.600 kWh at night! With simple things like unplugging adapters of my cellular (GSM) and kill standby of the harddiskrecorder, computers and television I was able to reduce the power to around 320 Watts. I also discovered that there are a lot of power adapters which consume a lot of energy with doing nothing, so I use now switching power adapters which have a high performance and so consume much less energy. The energy monitor is automatically plugged in my Home Control System which adds nice little features like for example getting a mail on your cellular (GSM) if the power consumption is higher then 500 Watt and there is no one at home. Real-time Electricity Monitoring A infrared-sensor is optical connected to the flashing led on the electricity meter of the power company and reads the total consumption we use. The led on the meter flashes 480 times for every Kilowatt (kW). The pulse is counted with the RFXmeter from RFXCOM and once every 30 seconds my home automation system receives wireless the amount of pulses (led flashes) counted. All the data is saved in a SQL database which I can query and display on the webpage's. If you want the exact schematics click on the link above or on the image below.

  3. Monitor Energetico Il monitoraggio elettrico in tempo reale viene aggiornato ogni minuto.
