  9. BiddingYou are given enough bids to cover the amount of employers for each session. You must assign a bid number to each employer you wish to apply to. “1” is your highest rank, “2” is your second highest and so forth.Check the employer list daily. You can change the ranking of your bids at anytime before the bidding deadline.

  10. Lottery and Interview Selection • Employers who come on campus choose the number of interviews they want to conduct. Of those interview slots, the employer is able to select 80% of the students and the other 20% is selected by the lottery bid system. • For example, if an employer is going to conduct 10 on-campus interviews and 40 students apply, the employer is permitted to pre-select 8 of the students. The remaining 32 applicants will go into the lottery, and of those, 2 will be randomly picked by the computer for an interview based upon the strength of their bids. • Once you bid on an employer and the lottery is run, your bid is used. • For example, if Jane Smith places a “1” bid on Baker Hostetler but she is pre-selected by Baker based upon her stellar resume, she nevertheless has used up her “1” bid. That way, the system is fair for all students. • If Jeremy Brown places a “1” bid on Vorys Sater but so do 20 other students and Jeremy is not selected from the lottery, he nevertheless has used his “1” bid. However, the system automatically notes this and strengthens his “2” bid against other bidders who have already received interviews.

  11. Class Schedule and Conflicts • When the computer generates the list of students who obtained an interview with a particular employer (be it by pre-selection or bid) it will also schedule an interview time for each student. • The computer does not know if you are unavailable due to personal or other school conflicts. It is up to you to block off additional times that you will be unavailable for an interview. Be judicious about scheduling your additional conflicts. The more conflicts you have, the less your chances for getting an interview. • If you fail to block off additional conflicts you may be scheduled for an interview at an inconvenient time. If this is the case, you have two options: (1) attend the interview and miss your other activity or (2) contact the other students interviewing with that employer and try to switch times. Skipping the interview is not an option.

  12. Class Schedules and ConflictsClick the “Class Schedules/Conflicts” tab on your tool bar menu.Select the correct “Session” from the drop-down box.Read the “Instructions Box”.Click the times that you will be unavailable to interview. Click “Submit” at the bottom left corner.
