Research Committee Mission: • Provides policy to guide the CII research process. • Implements the topic generation and prioritization process for the CII Board of Advisors. • Implements the RFQ process to solicit and select the best proposals reflecting member company interest and providing greatest value to CII. • Supervises the Product Review Board.

  30. Academic Committee Mission: The primary forum for the academic community within CII to provide its expertise in both research methodology and subject matter to the institute. Duties include: • identifying subject matter experts • providing input to the research process • identifying and grooming new academics to serve as CII researchers • integrating CII research and products into the university curriculums • offering insights for new directions for CII

Critical Interfaces • Academic and Research Committee To improve the quality of CII academic research • Academic and CII Standing Committees/ COPs: To increase the participation of the academic community within CII • Academic Committee and CII Staff Staff/logistic support for meetings, webinars and poster session, and contract admin support for curriculum study.

AC Membership Membership in the Academic Committee will consist of (at minimum), • academics engaged by CII to conduct research • academics engaged by CII to conduct education activities • and those that serve on CII standing committees All academics seeking membership on the AC will apply to CII and upon completion & approval of the application, receive an appointment for 3 years with commitment to subcommittee work.

  34. Academic Committee Leadership Leadership of the Academic Committee shall consist of a chairperson, co-chairperson and committee junior chairperson. The leadership shall be selected from the AC membership and shall serve two year terms.

Benchmarking & Metrics Committee Mission • To define key EPC elements and performance metrics and process to collect and correlate them with related project practices • Guide CII in providing member companies with performance measures and industry trends on key elements of the EPC process • Assist member companies in assessing their performance against the collective data and helping them identify Best Practices and other opportunities to improve capital effectiveness • Provide quantitative feedback to help CII guide its research, implementation, and other activities.

Promote participation in activities and utilization of knowledge to implement work practices and manage change.   45. Branding Implementation Committee • The Branding Implementation Committee was sanctioned by the Executive Committee and formed in September 2007 to evaluate and strengthen CII’s brand • The goal of the committee is to position and promote CII as a recognized industry leader.

Breakthrough Strategy Committee Mission & Vision • Mission: To develop a process that will insure adequate generation of breakthrough research and other ideas and opportunities in support of other CII core processes. • Vision: To establish a long term process in which CII continues to identify, nurture, develop and harvest breakthrough ideas for capital project delivery for the benefit of CII members.
