  1. Bill Hionas Advises Investors not to Overlook the White Metals amid the Current Gold Frenzy (1888PressRelease) Silver, platinum and palladium have interesting investment potential. MIAMI, FL - Gold has been the subject of a media frenzy lately; few people are unaware of its record-breaking rise. Bill Hionas owns Pan American Metals of Miami, a precious metals brokerage trading in gold, silver, platinum and palladium. Everyone is aware of the exciting developments in the gold market but what of the white metals? Silver, platinum and palladium behave somewhat differently to gold. This is partly due to the fact that a large part of the demand for these metals comes from a range of industries. Silver has the highest electrical conductivity of any element; it is used in electric contacts and conductors, as a catalyst in chemical reactions and in high-end audio equipment. Platinum and palladium are widely used in the automotive industry for the manufacture of catalytic converters. Their high dependence on industry makes the white metals somewhat less attractive as a safe haven. On the one hand they have intrinsic value as precious metals; silver, in particular, has been accepted as money for trading purposes for many centuries; they also have beauty and rarity value. On the other hand their dependence on the strength of the industrial sector means that they are potentially more volatile than gold and the same economic factors that send investors scurrying to a perceived safe haven may cause a simultaneous decrease in demand for these metals. Silver, however, does enjoy safe haven attraction, often being seen as gold's younger sibling or as 'poor man's gold', offering, as it does, a more accessible entry point into the precious metals market. It is currently being targeted by investors as a comparably safe bet and has been holding its value firmly in recent weeks. Pan American Metals of Miami offers investors opportunities to purchase bullion holdings in all four metals. For more information, visit www.billhionas.com
