  2. If You know how to use the catalog You can find anything you want

  3. All the information you need is right there on the screen Just look!!

The Computer tells you which section to look in • Does it say F or Fic? • Then look in the Fiction section (also known as Chapter Books) • Does it say E? • Then look in the Easies (also known as the Picture Books) • Does it have a number? • Then it’s Non-fiction • Check the number, then look at the number ranges on the signs at the end of each Non-fiction shelf

  5. F is for fiction All you need to know is what section it’s in and who the author is Fiction is arranged alphabetically by the author’s last name Look for the signs at the top of each Fiction shelf to guide you

  6. Any name between Abbott and Bell will be on this shelf We are looking for Tony Abbott

  7. Here are the books by Tony Abbott

  8. E is for Easy All you need to know is what section it’s in and who the author is Look for the signs on the sides of each Easy shelf to guide you

  9. This sign tells us that authors with last names beginning with A through B are on one side and authors beginning with C through De are on the other. We are looking for Arnold Adoff.

  10. There are also signs guiding you to the popular authors located on each shelf

  12. Numbers are for non-fiction All you need to know is the Dewey Decimal number for the book and who wrote it Look for the signs at the end of each Non-fiction shelf to guide you

  13. Here the number ranges on each shelf are given on each sign. We are looking for 001.9, so we need to go to the left here – to the front of this shelf

  14. Here are the books with the call number of 001.9
