  3. Location • Jamaica is surrounded by the Caribbean sea • The capital city is Kingston

  4. climate and landscaping • This is a graph of the climate in Jamaica • The coolest average minimum temperature is 22 °C or (72 °F) • The warmest average max/ high temperature is 31 °C (88 °F) in June, July, August, September, October & November.

  5. Economy Jamaican Economy is a free-market economy. • Its climate allows them to grow crops, have natural resources, and be somewhere that people want to visit. This is all part of Jamaica’s economy. The country faces some serious problems but has the potential for growth and modernization

Culture and Religion • Jamaican culture is a mix of a lot of different cultures- this affects their religion, beliefs, gods, foods, communities, and other things. • According to the most recent data,24% of the population is religious. • Church of God, 11% Seventh-day Adventist, 10% Pentecostal, 7% Baptist, 4% Anglican, 2% and 10% other.

  7. Language and way of living • English (official), Creole. English is the official language of Jamaica. (government) The 1962 established a parliamentary system

  8. Government • Jamaica is a parliamentary democracy governed under the constitution of 1962 • The country's debt is $1.7 trillion which is 130 percent of the value of the goods and services the country produced last year (GDP), according to the government

  9. History • The third largest Caribbean island, was inhabited by Arawak natives when it was first sighted by the second voyage of Christopher Columbus on 5 May 1494. Columbus himself was stranded on Jamaica from 1503 to 1504 during his fourth voyage!
