  2. T.V. Moms Trivia In honor of Mother’s Day, here’s some interesting tidbits about your favorite T.V. moms… Marion Cunningham of Happy Days was an archeology major in college. Actress Katy Sagal wore her own red bouffant wig to audition for the role of Peg Bundy in Married with Children. Florence Henderson later claimed that she begged the producers to give Carol Brady a job on the Brady Bunch. Morticia Addam’s maiden name was Frump. It took Carolyn Jones two hours each day to put on Morticia’s make-up including a wig of human hair. The role of Carmela Soprano was originally offered to Lorraine Bracco, who turned it down. Linda Lavin, who played the role of Alice, also sang the show’s theme song. The only time Wilma Flintstone is seen wearing shoes was in the pilot episode called “The Swimming Pool” Out and About… Green Tip of the Month Next time you are in the mood for a glass of wine, consider making it biodynamic. Biodynamic wines are becoming much more widely available, and many are highly regarded, as well as better for the earth. Biodynamic farming is based on the precise observation and an attempt at balance of nature, a concept originated by the early 20th century Austrian philosopher Rudolph Steiner. So, biodynamic wine is not only 100% organic, in addition, the grower has gone beyond to try to bring the farming process more in tune with nature. For instance, biodynamic wine growers make their own compost and/or watch the stars and planets to time what they do. The goal of biodynamic winemaking is to view the vineyard as a complete living system. It’s about the soil, the insects and other vegetation and animals that inhabit space in the vineyard – all working in harmony to bring you some incredible tasting wines. You can find organic wines at Stew Leonard’s Wines and Spirits, 203.797.0049 or Avallone Discount Wine and Spirits, 203.744.1072. Both vendors are in Danbury.
