Successful Advocacy Efforts - Administrators • Administrator Visits with Legislators • Over 147 meetings with elected officials were scheduled during the 2011 Legislative Session;  • Representatives included presidents, administrators, faculty, students, and trustees; and • MICUA staff accompanied member representatives at most of these meetings. 2

Successful Advocacy Efforts – Administrators (continued) • Administrator Visits with Legislators • Met with most members of the Maryland General Assembly who hold leadership positions; • Met with every legislator representing a MICUA institution; • Met with all members of the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee; • Met with all members of the House Appropriations Committee; and • Met with many of the newly elected State officials. 3

  5. Successful Advocacy Efforts - Students • Student Visits to Annapolis • Institutions brought students to Annapolis on a date and time of their choosing;  • Visits helped to create a sustained presence in Annapolis during the legislative session; and • Nearly every institution participated. 4
