  2. The F2 Team • Foundation Stage Leader – Mrs Lowes • Willow Class – Mrs Lowes, Mrs Walker TA (Mrs Harding, Mrs Bosley) • Birch Class – Miss Kirby, Miss Hirst TA • Maple Class – Miss Grainger, Miss Williams TA • Learning Support Assistant – Mrs C, Mrs Bosley, Mrs Harding, Mrs Weaver

  3. The F2 Timetable • PE – All Foundation 2 PE is on a Thursday morning. • Library – We visit the library to choose a book on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. If children do not have their current book with them, they will not be able to choose a new one. • ICT Suite – classes visit on a Wednesday or Friday afternoon on a rota basis • Music lesson with Mrs Brown on a Tuesday morning • Singing assembly with Mrs Brown on a Wednesday morning

What does your child need? • a pair of wellies which they can leave in school so we can go outdoors in all weathers. • acoat and their book bag every day . • their water bottle every day. • a PE kit in school every Monday morning. • Please name everything! • A good night’s sleep and not too many after school activities to start with!

  6. The EYFS Early Learning Goals • EYFS – Early Year Foundation Stage; your child is now entering F2 (a continuation from their nursery/ pre-school which is F1). • 17 Areas of Learning. • Characteristics of Effective Learning

Learning Journeys • We have combined with their Learning Journeys from their nursery/ pre-school. • We contribute to these according to the ELGs and Areas of Learning during the school days. • WOW moments - We value your parent contribution. Please send in photos, notes and information from your child’s home life which you would like included in their Learning Journey. Assessment and reports in F2 • Assessment termly On-going informal through observations, interactions with your child, pieces of work and your WOW moments • Phonics assessment termly • Parents meetings – Settling in, friendships, achievement and progress • Reports – • End of F2 year • Year 1 classes

Our Topics in F2 • Autumn term – Being me in my world, Light and Dark - celebrations • Spring term – Talking Stories, New Life – Living Eggs Chinese New Year, Mother’s Day, Easter • Summer term – Farms and animals, Children’s Choice and transition to Year 1! These are a rough guide of what we will be learning, but we also follow the children’s interests and plan on a more short-term basis throughout the year according to your children.

  12. Trips and Visitors • Autumn Term – Nature welly walk. Panto at school, Christmas Entertainer • Spring term – Woods visits, Zoo Lab, Living Eggs • Summer term – Bucklebury Farm Park • Parents helpers welcome • Activity fund – the school activity fund (£15 per term) pays for trips, cooking ingredients and other extra-curricular activities to help enrich your child’s school experience such as Living Eggs.

  13. Parent helpers • After this half term, once the children are all settled :- • Parents helpers – we would love to have you help us if your are available. • Helping readers, cooking and art activities – if you’d like to come in please let a member of the F2 team know. • Weekend sleepover! Over the year our class bear, monkey or hippo would love to come for a sleepover with your child at home. Let us know what you’ve been up to so that your child can tell their friends on the Tuesday.

  14. Reading with your child • Your child will at first be sent home with a wordless book, this is to encourage confident and fluent story telling. • When your child is deemed ready by their teachers (usually after a few weeks of phonics) they will be moved on to books with words. • Please read with your child every day and make a note of this in their reading record, a short comment and signature is enough. • Reading badges starting in January. • School staff will always write in the diary in purple pen.

  15. Behaviour Policy • Our whole school behaviour policy is based on a traffic light system. • Superstars Home School Agreement: • A copy of this can be found with the school’s Golden Rules in your child’s reading record.
