  2. Analysis • OCGA 21-2-265 - Duty of Board • Technology – paper to Express Polls • Equipment allocation • Decrease wait times at precincts • Absentee/Advance voting • Staffing • Schools • Facility evaluations/poll worker suggestions

  3. Impact • Travel - Average 1.59 miles • Minimum – 0 Miles (Wynnton/Britt) • Maximum - 4.26 miles (Midland/St. Andrews) • Additional equipment available for deployment to precincts without extra expense • Staffing – Fewer workers/higher pay • Schools – 5 precincts rather than 24 located in schools • Saturday voting – convenience for voters

Timeline • Board approves plan for public dissemination. • Advertised two weeks in legal organ. • Elections Office receives comments. • Board meets on April 4, 2010 to hear comments. • Approval or objection from U.S. Department of Justice no later than April 26, 2010. • Precinct cards with new information mailed to affected voters. • Signs posted at previous precincts and three areas in the vicinity. • Effective for July 20, 2010 primaries.
