What is ICANN • Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, http://www.icann.org/ • Coordinates the global Internet’s unique identifiers and stable operation of the system of them, at the global level • Domain Names, IP numbers and protocol numbers • Three meetings held in a year touring all around the world

What is GNSO • Generic Names Supporting Organization • Is responsible for developing substantive policies relating to gTLDs (generic top-level domains) and recommending them to the ICANN Board • Multi-stakeholder approach • Contracted & Non-Contracted Parties • Stakeholder Groups and Constituencies to represent various stakes
