  2. Rule #1 Dress appropriately • Tie back long hair • Don’t wear sandals or flip flops • Push up long sleeves

  3. Rule #2 Never begin a lab or touch the materials in a lab without a teacher in the classroom.

  4. Rule #3 Always wear safety goggles! You could get something in your eye.

  5. Goggles are stored here. Note the ultraviolet bulb (UV) at the center used to kill bacteria.

  6. Rule #4 Read through all the instructions before beginning the lab. Pay attention to what you are doing throughout the lab. Be sure to pay attention to any instructions the teacher gives.

  7. Rule #5 Do not run or goof around. • You may get hurt. • You may distract someone else. • It can cause an accident or spill.

  8. Rule #6 Do not bring food or drinks to the science classroom when completing a lab. Never eat or drink anything when in the lab.

  9. Rule #7 Tell the teacher if you spill, break or experience any other kind of accident.

  10. Rule #8 WAFT Never smell a chemical directly.

  11. Rule #9 Never mix chemicals unless you are told what to do.

  12. Gas valves are no longer operational in this room. However, please do not touch them.

  13. Rule #10 Clean up your work area when you are finished. Don’t forget to wash your hands.

  14. On notebook paper: create a numbered list describing the unsafe behaviors shown
