College Ready, College Bound is a multi-phase, 3-year project examining: Marion County public and private high school students and library-media specialists Instruction, curriculum, & assessment of information literacy skills Role of the School Media Specialist, Teachers, Administration, & Higher Education

  3. CRCB will also explore: • Role of information literacy curriculum in preparation for college • Role of higher education in K-12 information literacy instruction • Potential partnerships among information literacy educators

  4. Phase 1 (March-June 2012): Evaluate the logistics of administering TRAILS assessment to students • Initial funding through CICF included: • Part-time research assistant to coordinate project logistics & graduate student for data evaluation • TRAILS administered at 3 high schools • Pre- and post- assessment interviews with media specialists. • Streamlined process of administering TRAILS with feedback from participating media specialists.

  5. Phase 2 (June 2012-July 2013): Administer TRAILS to 12thgrade students & incoming IUPUI freshmen • Hire graduate student to manage TRAILS data. • Administer TRAILS to (#) high school seniors and (#) IUPUI freshmen. • Pre- and post- assessment interviews and focus groups with media specialists; professional development opportunities • Potential for state/national research project & fundingfor Phase 3
