  3. Avoir - to have Present Tense Examples J'ai un livre.I have a book. Nous avons une voiture.We have a car. They have two children. Ils ont deux enfants. J’ai Tu as Il a Nous avons Vous avez Ils ont

  4. Être - to be Present Tense Examples Je suis à Paris.I am in Paris. Nous sommes très contents.We are very happy. Vous êtes des étudiants. You are students Je suis Tu es Il est Nous sommes Vous êtes Ils sont

  5. Faire - to do, make Present Tense Examples Je fais mon lit.I'm making my bed. Nous faisons tout ensemble.We do everything together. Ils font leur devoir. They are doing their homework. Je fais Tu fais Il fait Nous faisons Vous faites Ils font

  6. Note • Even though être is the French equivalent of "to be," there are certain expressions in which you have to use avoir or faire to translate "to be.” • J’ai 18ans. I’m 18 year old.
