  2. Where and when was he born and When and where he died? Hernando was born in Jerez De Los Caballeros, Spain in the year of 1496 or the year of 1500. He died the when he was sailing along the Mississippi River in the year of 1542.

  3. Who sent the explorer and what country funded the exploration? 1.De Soto asked king Charles the 1st many times to go and conquer something he eventually king Charles let him go. 2.Spain paid for his exploration.

  4. Show a map of the route you’re explorer took. He started in Florida and he finished some where in the Mississippi river where he died.

  5. Who were the natives living there first? The natives live there first were the Timucuans. Describe the what was achieved. What lands did he explore or find? Conquer? The lands that he explored and conquered where the Mississippi river and most of Florida.

  6. What where the consequences of the exploration? How did the exploration affect the work and knowledge of the world? • The consequences of the exploration where leaving his family and he could’ve got murdered in the war he fought and loose his family. • The exploration affected the knowledge of the world by discovering the Mississippi river witch is the longest river in the United States.

  7. What did you learn about history from studying about your explorer? What did you find interesting about this explorer? • We learned that he killed hundreds of Indians so that he could be the ruler of Florida and people were very selfish back then. • What we found interesting was that he discovered the Mississippi river and founded the oldest city in the United States witch is St Augustine, FL, USA.

  8. Describe the ways this person has been honored. For example, was anything named in honor of the explorer? Oceans, lakes, buildings, streets, etc. This is St. Augustine In Florida, De Soto County and De Soto City, Fort De Soto, De Soto National Memorial, and many more.
