  49. Wound Care Practitioners – The Tissue Gardeners They take on barren or weed infested patches of denuded earth and—with compassion and care—gradually transform them into flowing lawns and lush flowerbeds through their diligent care and use of the right tools. They are continually faced with pests, drought, floods, hail or careless trampling. Yet, without resentment they return to doing what they can—all in the fervent hope or stubborn faith that they will see a blossom yet. As gardeners they work with careful observation and wisdom. They understand that sunlight (oxygen) and water (perfusion) are indispensable allies and must be provided for their garden to grow. They are ruthless towards dead plants and the eradication of pests, yet spend infinite care protecting the vulnerable seedling. They know that as long as they provide the right environment—their plants will thrive…. These people are as much a marvel of nature as the gardens they produce; behold the wound care practitioner—the tissue gardener! - Frans Cronje Potholes in Wound Care: Past, present & future: Liezl Naude
