  4. What can I use these templates for? Block templates: • Menus – when you want to show options visually eg http://www.derby.ac.uk/library/contacts-and-opening-times Image galleries: • For pages showing multiple images

  5. Don’t use these templates for… Block images: • To present information in sections where there’s a lots of text – ‘Menu’ templates are better for this • For a list that you might want to reorder Eg, see http://www.derby.ac.uk/podcasts • For video menus – Menu (Videos) is better • For lists which expand – eg podcasts – ‘Menu of thumbnails’ is better

  6. Don’t use these templates for… Image galleries: • For images which require lots of text underneath • As a menu without adding explanatory text eg http://www.derby.ac.uk/careers/volunteering-newsletter

  7. Common problems Block templates: • Size of images must be the same • Heading length should be consistent for each row • Make sure your heading links and image links match Eg, see www.derby.ac.uk/podcasts

  8. Common problems or queries Image galleries: • Portrait images together and landscape images together www.derby.ac.uk/faculties/arts-design-and-technology/markeaton-street-derby/photos-and-videos/free-running • Image size – we recommend 150 x 150 at least www.derby.ac.uk/chaplaincy/derby/events-and-activities/photo-albums/taize-trip-06 • Reordering images • Long/meaningless captions eg ‘Graduate 1’
