What Am I?

I live in the Yangtze River of China and the Southeastern states of the United States. I do not like cold weather. I have a special body part that helps me dig burrows in winter. I am a carnivore so I eat fish, birds, snakes, turtles, and alligator eggs.

I do not like cold weather. • I have a special body part that helps me dig burrows in winter. • I am a carnivore so I eat fish, birds, snakes, turtles, and alligator eggs. • I spend most of the day lying in the sun on muddy river banks because I am cold-blooded and need the heat of the sun to keep warm.
