  2. Vision of the Future • The Auckland Procurement Programme has come about because:- • Funders and deliverers of infrastructure have a lack of visibility of the future • Local planners have to integrate city services and use a 10 year plus horizon

Vision of the Future • Tools either exist or are near to coming into being that will help this process • They are the next logical progression from Building Information Modelling (BIM) and are sometimes termed Built Environment Information Modelling (BEIM) • They combine BIM’s attributes with geospatial mapping and allow for infrastructure planning
