  2. RSVP is Division of Senior Corps Senior Corps is a network of national service programs that provides older Americans opportunity to apply life experience. The mission of the RSVP is to make a positive impact on the well-being of all West Virginians by promoting volunteerism that draws from the life experiences of citizens 55 and over.

Categories of RSVP Services and Activities 4-H Volunteers Adult daycare Advocate awareness for public assistance programs After-school programs* Assist other volunteers Assist with mental health clients Blood drives** Caregivers support Community Policing Companionship Craft heritage Disaster Preparedness/Relief* Fundraisers Greeters at welcome centers Healthy Lifestyle programs for seniors Hospitals – gift shops, mail delivery/info desk** Inter-generational activities Light housekeeping Meal preparation Meals on Wheels / soup kitchen / Salvation Army* Mentor to children** Monitor medication Neighborhood Watch Nursing homes* Office help/clerical support** Provide food for food banks* Provide public information i.e. - diabetes Provide public safety through “facing fear program” – Red Cross Read-a-loud Respite volunteer School literacy programs** SCP Hospice training and grief counseling SCP transports clients Senior centers info desk Service tree Tax assistance** Telephone reassurance* Tours of state parks/nature trails* Trade show volunteers Transportation for other seniors* Tutoring* Volunteer for special events Work with disabled children Work with teen parents Working with abused/neglected children WV Public Theatre ushering WVU football game greeters Independent Living Emotional/Social Support Education Public Safety Health Economic/Community Development Communication Transportation Financial Cultural Heritage Recreation Nutrition

Emotional/Social Support GOAL 3: TO DELIVER SERVICES THAT NURTURE EMOTIONAL/SOCIAL WELL-BEING. Public Safety GOAL 4: TO IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY THROUGH VOLUNTEER SERVICE AND EDUCATION. Health GOAL 5: TO PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES.
