  4. Clear Lines of Communication • Project Board – monthly meetings – comms lead present • Subsequent meetings with Project Lead and Staff Rep as required • Sharing messages – agreed comms strategy • Communication with all staff • National comms link – Mod Agency

  5. Partnership Working • New ways of working together – cultural change • Unprecedented staff involvement • Sheer scale of project and implications (time and resources) • Communications – clear and transparent • Sharing learning with other NHS comms colleagues

  6. Variety of Methods • Don’t throw away baby with bathwater! Use existing internal comms methods • Staff Bulletins – regular + special • Roadshows – joint management/staff side • Q&As • Presentations • ‘Hotline’ + e-mail

  7. Open and Transparent • Saying what was happening when • Saying when nothing was happening! • Joint bulletins – staff side rep • Project Board discussions • Communicating different sources of information eg union, national etc.

  8. Dealing With the Media • Little or no interest – locally • Early interest from professional publications e.g. HSJ • Links with national A4C comms lead • Consistency of messages from EIs • But then……..
