  1. Tri-Association Manufacturers’ Initiative NMA Funding Forum Cobourg, ON June 17, 2010

The Tri-Association Manufacturers’ Initiative is a $3.1 million dollar project with $1.55 million in funding provided by the Federal Community Adjustment Fund First time partnership between the economic development organizations of the City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County, the Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation and the Quinte Economic Development Commission.

  3. The project is supported by the regions’ three Manufacturer's Associations: KMA, NMA and QMA. Quinte Manufacturers Association

  4. The project will operate from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 Funds will be disbursed on a “first come, first serve” basis so the program may end prior to March 31, 2011 if the funds are exhausted prior to that.

  5. Manufacturing Members of each of the Manufacturers’ Associations are eligible for a 50% rebate on direct third party training costs. This funding rebates the net training cost, it does not reimburse Provincial or Federal taxes 

  6. Manufacturing members are also eligible for a $1,000 rebate for each intern (under the age of 29) or displaced worker who is hired full time for a minimum of three months. Interns/displaced workers must be hired by December 31, 2010 in order to provide the three-month proof of payroll by the end of the program in March 2011

  7. How do I apply? Step 1 – Complete application form and return for training or intern request approval Step 2 – Conduct third-party delivered training or hire interns/displaced workers Step 3 – Submit a copy of the invoice with proof of payment and/or proof of payroll
