Outcome of the AWG-LCA Global goal of keeping temperature increase under 2 degrees, as well as a review of that goal on the basis of best available science Comprehensive institutional framework to support implementation of action on mitigation, adaptation and related financial, technological and capacity building support Launched implementation steps on various elements of the Bali Action Plan Provides direction to further work in 2011 on unresolved issues through the SBSTA, SBI, AWG-LCA and AWG-KP

Outcome of the AWG-LCA Adaptation Framework (para. 13), including an Adaptation Committee (para. 20) Registry of NAMAs (para. 53) Green Climate Fund (para. 102), to be designed by a Transitional Committee (para. 109), and Standing Committee on finance (para.112) Technology Mechanism, consisting of a Technology Executive Committee and Climate Technology Centre and Network (para. 117) 1/CP.16 contains further undertakings for each institution In most cases the COP identifies the importance of the links between these institutional elements

Establishment of the Technology Mechanism Cancun Agreements established a Technology Mechanism, consisting of: Technology Executive Committee (TEC) as the policy and strategy arm of the Mechanism Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) to provide direct support to technology actions in developing countries to address climate change Technology Mechanism will: Harness the world’s technological capacity to serve developing country Parties in preparing and implementing mitigation and adaptation plans and actions Be a very practical tool to help developing countries to build technological capacity Undertake analysis and recommend policies, programmes and actions for decisions by the COP and guidance for funding
