P#54 – AIR5359 Update Team Vince MayMike Roberts 2005-06-07 1 • AIR5359 contains “shalls” therefore it should be an AS (Standard) • Need for implementation of AS9104 in the Americas’ Sector • Develop a comparison matrix between AS9104 and AIR5359 • Draft AS9014 • Perform gap analysis of AS9014 vs. FAA 8120.12 and C.I. 21-011 • Submit to SAE for 2 week review • Submit for balloting • Release AS9014 • Requirements for AS vs. AIR were not clearly understood • Release of AS9104 by the IAQG caused a re-write of AIR5359 • Successful ballot in the Americas • Change AIR5359 to AS9014 • Integrate AIR5359 and AS9104 requirements into a AS9014 as a single document • 100% Project Milestones • Meeting Attendance

P#54 – AIR5359 Update Team Vince May G Y R Y 2005-06-07 2006-01-31 Mike Roberts • Description of Project • Update AIR5359 to AS9014 • Benefit of project • Americas Sector compliance to AS9104 • Drafted AS9014 • Performed Gap Analysis of AS9014 vs. FAA 8120.12 • Updated AS9014 to Fill Identified Gaps • Submitted to SAE for Comments • Updated AS9014 to Resolve Issues from SAE Comments • Updated AS9014 to include SAE Comments dispositioned by the RMC • Submitted to SAE for balloting • Incorporated Approval of Auditor Authentication Bodies • Removed RMC Approval of Trainers • Added definition of Auditor Authentication Body from the AIR5493 Re-Write Team • Removed FAA 8120.12 requirement for suppliers and CRBs to notify the PAH when a supplier fails an initial registration audit • * See additional issues/decisions in Additional Information Section • Resolve comments from balloting • Submit for “quick turn” ballot • Release AS9014.

Additional information • Continued use of AAs in the Americas scheme • Document only addresses IAQG/AAQG members responsibilities but does not preclude others from using the ICOP process • Added requirement that, at a minimum, certificates be in English • Removed allowance of auditors to perform 4 assessments while pending RMC approval • Add definition of the term Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) • Replace the term “aerospace” industry with “aviation, space and defense”, where possible • Comments concerning changes to the main body of AS9104 will be passed on to Mike Roberts to forward to the AS9104 Re-Write Team • Need SAE or other assistance in assuring document meets the SAE Style Guide upon release • Need resolution from AAQG on removing or maintaining compliance to FAA Order 8120.12
