Practical Modules • 5 options: • Group Fitness Module: 16hrs. minimum • Weight Training Module: 16hrs. minimum • Yoga Fitness Module: 35hrs. minimum • Aquatic Fitness Module: 16hrs. Minimum • Pilates Fitness Module: 40hrs. Minimum • To review current module listings click here

20hrs. Practical Weight Training Experience • Prior to taking the Personal Training Module an applicant must have completed 20 hrs. of working as a weight training leader (paid or volunteer) • A supervisor/manager needs to verify these 20 hrs. • Verification letter (submitted to course conductor, not to BCRPA)

Combo Courses • Many instructors are now teaching combo courses • These are a combination of two or more courses • i.e. Fitness Theory and Weight Training • The certification process is basically the same
Transfer and Course By-pass If you have prior practical experience or post secondary education you can apply to by-pass certain steps in the certification process: • Course By-pass – for those who have post-secondary education • Grand Parent – applies to GF, WT, YF, PF and AF and is for those with prior practical experience working as a fitness leader • Fast Track – applies to Personal Training and is for those with prior practical experience working as a personal trainer • Transfer – applies to those who are already certified with another fitness governing body and want to transfer into the BCRPA
