    1. Emerging Technology Presentation

    2. Presentation Overview Your first assignment is a research project on a particular leading edge technology that may have an impact upon businesses, further facilitating the achievement of strategic objectives. Examples of these technological advancements include XBRL, VOIP, Mobile Computing and  Open source software. In groups of four, you will research a particular technology (assigned by me), and prepare and deliver a 15 minute presentation.

    3. Presentation Content A technical overview of your technology The applications of the technology (how organizations can use it) The impact of this technology on businesses, and a comment on how the technology is expected to continue to develop in the next few years. A case study (or 2) of an organization that is using the technology

    4. Deliverable You are only required to prepare PowerPoint slides with notes that must be submitted to me; the grading of this project will include both the content and delivery of your presentation.

    5. Presentation Format Choose a visually appealing design template appropriate for projection. Careful with font size – should not have any bullets with font size < 20 point. Each slide should have a footer with the following information: Left – Date Center – <Name of Your Project> Presentation Right – Page Number

    6. Presentation Flow Introduction Tell them what you are going to tell them Body Content Conclusion Recap Ask for questions

    7. Style Speak slowly Address the whole room (avoid bias) Brief Eye Contact with audience members

    8. Process Send me your presentation at least 1 hour before the class, in which you will present. If you can’t get the presentation to me prior to class, please ensure you have it on flash drive. BRING A HARD COPY OF THE PRESENTATION TO CLASS IN CASE OUR TECHNOLOGY FAILS US!

    9. Evaluation 3 factors will be considered Content 60% Presentation material (20%) Presentation delivery (20%) Everyone in the class will evaluate the presentation. I will hand out grading sheet in class. Attendance for each class is mandatory
