  15. Oil Pastel Techniques 1. Fade out (gradation) 2. Blend (2 colors fading together) 3. Tint (one color plus white) 4. Shade (one color plus black) 5. Sgraffito(Scratched layer) 6. 3 Modeled 3D objects *Now, Practice a small version of your project in your sketchbook. 6 in x 6 in square. Use all oil pastel techniques.

  26. 6 Techniques 1. Fades (Value scale in one color) 2. Blends (2 analogous colors fading together) 3. Tints (1 color + white) 4. Shades (black + 1 color) 5. Sgraffito (scratching through a layer of pastel) 6. Modeled 3D objects – Spheres, apples, etc. Now, create a 6 in x 6 in practice design in your sketchbook. Use all techniques!!

  35. Fri 11/16 – B4 - Drawing • Warm up: Write this… To apply Chalk pastel, start with a lighter layer of a light color value. Softly work in the next color value. Blend between layers. Add several layers of each color value, plus black & white till you achieve a 3D look. Do not blow the chalk dust.
